Front row for Haslam on Supersport debut.

Team Renegade Ducati's Leon Haslam stormed to a front row grid position during today's final qualifying session at Silverstone, despite not having even sat on his Ducati 748 Supersport machine before free practice for this weekend's opening round got underway on Friday morning.

Haslam, who will start tomorrow's race from third on the grid, declared himself satisfied with his qualifying performance, although a little disappointed with being bumped back from second place on the grid in the dying moments of the final session.

"I'm really happy with the way things have gone so far this weekend, it's been better than we could ever have expected," said Haslam. "The bike only arrived last week, so we've not had the chance to test on it, but we've still managed to be in the top three in every session so far.

"We have a few things still to try on the bike tomorrow morning, but I just can't wait to get out there and start racing now."
