Familiar face returns to Rizla fold.

Rizla Suzuki will welcome back a familiar face for the trip to Knockhill as for the latest round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship as chief technician Dave Marton rejoins the team after six months away.

Marton - affectionately known as 'Oz' because of his Australian background - was the mastermind behind John Reynolds' victorious Championship winning season in 2004, taking care of all technical development with the Rizla Suzuki GSX-R1000 before electing to take a year out from racing at the start of 2005.

However Marton has now rejoined the team to help with the development and performance of the GSX-R1000K5 and said he was ready for the challenge.

"It's great to be back with Rizla Suzuki," he said. "I had some time off at the start of the year and now feel refreshed and revitalized - ready to race again."

"I am pretty relaxed straight away and I'm looking forward to getting back to the race track. The team is almost the same as before with a few new personnel onboard and that makes for a solid package. My aim is to take what's available, make the most of it and win some races."

Team Manager Robert Wicks said he was thrilled to have Marton back on board.

"Oz is without doubt one of the best motorcycle technicians in the world," he said. "His insight on how to get the most out of a team of highly specialised race technicians and make a motorcycle perform at its absolute best is something that cannot be taught. We are delighted to have him back in the team. He will further strengthen our squad for the second half of the season."
