Ellison re-signs for Slingshot.

Dean Ellison has penned a new deal with the Slingshot SMT Racing team to ride a 2006 Honda CBR1000RR in this year's Bennetts British Superbike Championship.

"I'm really glad that Slingshot SMT is backing me again this year," said Ellison, who has already been enjoying track time on his new machine, ahead of the official MCRCB test at Snetterton on March 18-19. "The team's very professional and understands racing inside out. Yet it's small enough to give things that personal edge and get what I'm about as a rider. Just what you need in pit lane!"

After a troubled start to 2005 on a Jentin Racing Yamaha, Dean - brother of MotoGP rider James - left in May to set up the Slingshot outfit and, with the benefit of last year's experience of the Fireblade to call upon, team manager Jim Stock is eager for 2006 to begin.

"We already know how the Honda works after last season so it'll be great to see how Dean performs in testing at Snetterton," said Stock. "He's been working really hard on pre-training so now we just want the season to get underway!"
