Fine weather at Oulton Park has assisted the on-track antics of Northpoint Ekerold Honda's Cal Crutchlow who bettered his own lap record to head the timesheets in free practice two, ahead of round four of the British supersport championship.

He was the only rider to lap in the 1min 38s with an excellent time of 1min 38.961secs, his lap record from last year stands at 1min 39.357secs and looks set to come crashing down once the racing starts in earnest on Monday.

Leon Camier, Crutchlow's team-mate managed to finish in fifth place despite an off at Druids early in the session. Second fastest man on track was Red Bull Honda's Eugene Laverty dipping into the 1min 39secs, with Stuart Easton on the Lloyds' Ducati in third. Easton will be staying busy now that he is on board with the SC Carrachi world supersport team for the remainder of the season.

Dennis Hobbs on the Padgetts Honda was sixth fastest and will be looking to settle the score this weekend as mechanical woes saw his withdraw from the thick of the race action last time out at Thruxton.
