With three rounds left in the British Superbike Championship the Airwaves Ducati riders head to the 2.18 mile Cadwell Park circuit this weekend looking for a positive Bank Holiday weekend performance.

In an excellent performance by the team at Croft in the last round, Leon Haslam achieved his first win of 2006. His team mate Gregorio Lavilla achieved two third places meaning that Airwaves Ducati head to the technically challenging Lincolnshire circuit laying second and third in the championship.

Airwaves Ducati achieved a memorable one-two result at Cadwell Park last year, Leon Haslam started from pole and took a victory in the second race whilst Gregorio Lavilla claimed a pair of second places and overtook his two rivals to take the lead in the Championship which he eventually won.

Gregorio Lavilla is also the lap record holder at Cadwell Park with a time of 1 min 28secs but when the team tested there in June both Lavilla and Haslam lapped the circuit under the 1min 28secs barrier, consistently posting times in the mid twenty sevens; something that Lavilla see's as a big positive going into this weekend.

"I had been nervous about Cadwell Park but since testing here I am feeling much better about racing here this weekend. I got a pair of second places last year and it holds some good memories as I took the championship lead too. I was pleased with how I rode at Croft and although Cadwell Park is not the type of track that I like I do hold the lap record so we know the Airwaves Ducati's are capable of performing well and lapping fast here. After recent good results I am confident for the weekend," he said

After his win at Croft, Haslam is optimistic for a good performance over the bank holiday saying, "We tested here in June and that went really well so the team is confident for this weekend. Last year we achieved a one-two finish and although it is a very technical track it suits my racing style and the Ducati's. I am really happy with the way I am riding and Cadwell Park, Silverstone and Brands Hatch are all my favourite tracks so I am certainly looking for another win and more importantly some solid championship points."

Round 11 of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship from Cadwell Park takes place this Bank Holiday weekend.
