Glenn Irwin has return to the top of the times in the final free practice at Oulton Park having dominated the in-season test as he heads up a Be Wiser Ducati 1-2 from defending Bennetts British Superbike champion Shane Byrne.

Irwin took a clean sweep of top times at last week’s test at the Cheshire track and despite missing out during the opening two practice sessions the Be Wiser Ducati rider returned to form with a late 1m 34.312s to storm to the top.

Be Wiser Ducati teammate Byrne, fastest from FP2, kept his name at the sharp end just two-tenths off of Irwin. FP1 timesheet-topper Jason O’Halloran also enjoyed a late charge up the order with a late flying lap to take third place for Honda.

Leon Haslam continues to threaten at the front with fourth place at the end of the final practice session for JG Speedfit Kawasaki as Jake Dixon rounded out the top five on the RAF Regular and Reserves Kawasaki.

BSB championship leader Bradley Ray slipped down to sixth place late for Buildbase Suzuki just ahead of Danny Buchan on the FS-3 Racing Kawasaki and Tommy Bridewell on the Movuno.com Halsall Suzuki.

Peter Hickman (Smiths Racing BMW) and Josh Brookes (McAMS Yamaha) completed the top ten contenders, while Dan Linfoot’s stand-in rider Ryuichi Kiyonari ended FP3 in 19th place for Honda.

Tyco BMW’s Christian Iddon will sit out the Oulton Park round after breaking his left hand in an off during FP2.
