Lachlan Epis will become the latest in a long line of Australians to make the switch to the Britiish Superbike Championship after securing a full-time deal with NP Motorcycles for 2021.

Epis made hsi BSB debut at the end of the 2020 season aboard the privateer NP Motorcycles BMW S 1000 RR and will now compete full-time with new title backing from Lextek.

With credits competing in the WorldSSP, European Superstock 600 and CEV championships, Epis is just the latest Australian to attempt a fortune on British soil, following on from the likes of Josh Brookes, Jason O’Halloran and Troy Bayliss, among others.

“After standing in for the team at the final round of the Championship at Brands Hatch this year, I’m excited to be joining the NP Motorcycles Lextek BMW for a full season in 2021,” Epis said.

“I’m looking forward to training here in Australia before flying to England in March to start testing again with my guys.

“The goal will be to get comfortable on the bike and in the championship and start working away to the fight for the midfield and keep moving forward. I can’t wait to get going!”

“I am really glad to have Lachlan back in the team for next year to work on what we started at Brands Hatch when he stepped in,” team owner Neil Pearson added. “We are excited to see where he can come in this very competitive championship with more experience in the series next year.

“His appearance in the final races of the season this year opened his eyes to how hard this championship is, but he is relishing the challenge. We will have more news soon to a possible teammate as we plan to expand to a two-rider team next season.”
