EXCELR8 Motorsport's Tom Ingram has said 'he can't ask for any more' after producing back-to-back wins at Oulton Park to go joint-top of the British Touring Car Championship drivers' standings alongside BTC Racing's Josh Cook.

Ingram has been in imperious form so far this weekend after claiming pole position and two dominant victories in races one and two, ahead of defending champion Ash Sutton on both occasions.

That's seen the Hyundai i30N driver bounce back from a disastrous Thruxton weekend to reclaim the top-spot, albeit alongside Cook.

Speaking after race two, Ingram admitted the pace of the Sutton/Ford combination made it a 'tough' second race, but said he was able to manage the gap once he figured out where the three-time champion was using his hybrid deployment.

"It’s been fantastic," Ingram told Crash.net "I can’t ask for any more. As a Sunday, and Saturday, it’s been brilliant. If we can carry on with that I’ll be pleased! Obviously, we’re starting a little bit further back in 12th.

"But the car has been brilliant so far today. It’s done everything I want it to. It puts us in good shape going into the last race so we’ll see what happens.

"Those first few laps were fast. It was really quick and Ash [Sutton] was quick. I was also acutely aware as how hard Ash races, as I do. I knew if there was a mistake there would be a Ford Focus up the inside. It was going to be difficult to try and keep him behind.

"But I could see when he was deploying hybrid to try and get back in. Once he deployed, I could see where his pace was and try to manage appropriately.

"However, it’s with how it's gone, we’re just really pleased. But that race was tough because Ash was really fast."

Having been the class of the weekend so far, Ingram paid testament to his team and said his Hyundai i30N 'felt great' right from the word go on Friday afternoon.

"This weekend has just felt great. We started with the car on Friday afternoon, we rolled it off the truck and it felt great," Ingram continued.

"It never happens where you can have a car that feels great right from the word go. A lot of that is the by-product of the hard work in the week.

"Spencer has worked so hard to make sure we came into here in the best shape possible. The constant ‘you’ve never had a podium here’ just forces the attention to prove it wrong. Good way to do it!

Ingram, however, will have a tall order to replicate his current weekend heroics from 12th in the reverse grid third and final race.

"Stay out of trouble. Let’s not waste what we’ve done so far today by throwing it away by doing something stupid," said Ingram

"Let’s just get a good result in this race and stay out of trouble. If we can go forward, we’ll go forward."
