BMW Pirtek Racing's Andrew Jordan storms to the top of the British Touring Car Championship timesheets after setting the pace during FP2 at Knockhill.

The BMW 125i M Sport driver set the third fastest time during the morning's earlier FP1 session, but subsequently lowered his own benchmark by almost 0.3s to steal the initiative in what proved to be a fiercely competitive second session.

Two late red flags created a frenetic final five-minutes to the 40-minute running, where Jordan ultimately pipped the factory Honda of Dan Cammish by 0.062s after setting another BTCC record with a 51.185s lap - 0.108s quicker than Ashley Sutton's initial record set in FP1.

Mac Tools Racing's Adam Morgan was third aboard his Ciceley Motorsport prepared Mercedes A-Class, while Chris Smiley - fresh off the back from his maiden BTCC win at Rockingham - was fourth fastest for BTC Norlin Racing.

Rob Austin maintained his position at the sharp from the morning session with the fifth fastest time in FP2, just 0.001s quicker than Stephen Jelley, who was a strong sixth for Team Parker Racing.

Brett Smith was the leading Eurotech Honda Civic Type-R in seventh, ahead of Tom Oliphant in eighth.

Dan Lloyd ensured both BTC Norlin Racing Hondas were represented in the top-ten in ninth, as home hero Aiden Moffat rounded out the top-ten order with the tenth fastest time.

Championship leader Colin Turkington enjoyed a better run of it during FP2 and eventually emerged from the session in 12th. Turkington had led the timesheet's earlier in the session, but was one of a number of drivers to be hindered by the late red flags.

Reigning champion Ashley Sutton followed his title-rival closely behind in 13th.
