Verstappen won 19 of the 22 races in F1 2023 as he stormed to a third consecutive drivers’ title.

The Dutchman broke a plethora of records along the way, and is probably set for another successful year in 2024.

Many have tipped Verstappen, given his age, could be the driver to beat Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton’s record of seven world titles.

Speaking to F1-Insider, Jordan - who famously owned the Jordan GP F1 team - labelled his “most underrated F1 driver of all time” while also praising Verstappen.

“I’ve already experienced a lot. It was already clear to Michael after the first test drives at Silverstone: that he would be Ayrton Senna’s challenger,” he reflected.

“He was so fast straight away that we thought the stopwatch was crazy.

“I also worked with Heinz-Harald Frentzen – for me he is still the most underrated F1 driver of all time.

“He was a gifted natural talent. For me, Max Verstappen is the mixture of Senna and Schumacher.”

Jordan has also backed Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc as the two drivers to take it to Verstappen in the future - rather than Hamilton and Fernando Alonso.
