Lewis Hamilton has reiterated that he will go to Canada next week 'with even more energy and determination' following a difficult weekend in Monaco.

Hamilton had to settle for second around the streets of the Principality losing out after team-mate Nico Rosberg took that controversial pole position the previous day, something that ultimately paved the way for the German to win.

Hamilton, however, is now looking ahead having made up with Rosberg and will be determined to do well at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, a track that he regards very fondly and was the scene of his maiden F1 win back in 2007. He also won there in 2010 and 2012 too, while last year he was third.

"Monaco was another great weekend for the team and I'm so proud of all the hard work the guys put in to make it happen. Of course, from a personal perspective it wasn't what I was aiming for. I race to win every time and unfortunately it just wasn't my weekend," the Briton lamented.

"But I drove with all my heart and gave it all I could, so I head to the next race with even more energy and determination," added the 2008 F1 World Champion.

"Montreal is one of my favourite weekends of the year. It's where I won my first Grand Prix back in 2007 and I've had another two victories there since, so it holds some special memories for me," he continued.

"The city itself is incredible [too]. It's one I always love to go to and there's always a great crowd, so I'm hoping for them that the weather is good and we can put on a great show!" he summed-up in the countdown to round seven in F1 2014.
