Mclaren Money To Go West?

McLaren boss Ron Dennis is denying claims that title sponsor West is about to quit the sport.


Formula One is thought to have become too costly for the German company, and insiders believe that it will part company with McLaren in the near future. Dennis, however, insists that the partnership will continue to the end of 2003 and beyond, as planned, but admits that McLaren's West-funded F3000 operation may be canned before 2000.

Rumours link Japanese electronic giant Sony to McLaren as a possible replacement, but it is understood that the company would not have the necessary finance to replace the estimated ?25-35million provided by West.
