WilliamsF1 continues to reap fruits of Vine.

The BMW WilliamsF1 Team has announced that Christian Vine, its current head of sponsorship acquisitions, has agreed a long-term contract to stay with the Grove squad.

Vine has led the sponsorship acquisitions team with great success over the last few years, and continued his record with the recent arrivals of new backers GSK - via the Niquitin CQ brand - Western Union and Budweiser.

"Christian is a rare talent and we are delighted to have secured his services for the next few years," team boss Sir Frank Williams admitted, "Christian and his acquisitions team have shown that hard work can achieve dividends in what has proved to be difficult times, and we now look forward to taking advantage of a more positive commercial environment and building upon the team's already impressive sponsorship portfolio."

Vine has been with WilliamsF1 for seven years, and admitted that he had no qualms about signing up for another few seasons with the world championship challengers.

"I have enjoyed my seven years with WilliamsF1 and look forward to the future - continuing to sell one of the world's most successful sporting brands to potential sponsors," he said, "The team has shown in recent weeks that it is back at the top of Formula One, and I want to be part of the championship ambitions."
