The organisers of the Formula 3 Euro Series confirmed the schedule for 2005 last week, with 20 rounds set to take place over the course of ten weekends.

Like last year, Hockenheim kick-offs the season and concludes it, however the main highlight will be the Monaco street race on May 21st, when the Euro Series will support the F1 grand prix.

In addition, their will be three other races held on streets circuits - two in France, at Pau and Avignon and one in Germany, at the Norisring.

In addition to Monaco and Avignon, which both appear on the schedule for the first time, the F3 Euro Series will also make its debut at Spa, in Belgium and at the Oschersleben, in Germany.

As was the case in 2004, the F3 Euro Series will be apart of the DTM package on most weekends, except at Monaco, where it will support the F1 race and at Pau, where it will be apart of the French 'Super Series'.

"The 2005 Formula 3 Euro Series calendar offers a extremely attractive programme - the best the series ever had," commented DMSB vice president, Herman Tomczyk.

"The Formula 3 season will be contested in front of the eyes of the world and the highest motor sport bodies and for young gifted drivers it definitely represents the most important stepping stone to the highest motor racing levels.

"The Formula 3 Euro Series season will once again be a support event for its most important partner series, the DTM.

"Furthermore, one event will be part of the French 'Super Series' weekend, taking place at Pau, and the fact that the series will also be part of the Monaco Grand Prix support programme proves the extraordinary significance of this motor racing category."
