Sophia Flörsch has returned to the cockpit of a Formula 3 car for the first time since her horrific crash at the Macau Grand Prix.

The 18-year-old suffered a spinal fracture in a high-speed aerial accident in Macau last November that left her requiring surgery, but the German made a remarkably speedy recovery and announced her plans to compete in the renamed Formula European Masters in 2019.

Less than four months since the crash, Flörsch made her comeback during a two-day test at Monza with Van Amersfoort Racing, completing over 90 laps of the Italian Grand Prix venue on the opening day of running on Wednesday.
