The first-ever Jakarta E-Prix was scheduled for June 2020 but was cancelled due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

A Formula E race in Jakarta has been included in the Settlement of Regional Priority Issues for 2021-2022. 

“The holding of the Formula E competition with a target time of June 2022,” he wrote in the document.

On the Formula E calendar for next season there’s a vacant spot on June 4, listed as to be confirmed.

Should Jakarta be added to the calendar, it will become the third new country to host an E-Prix alongside Korea and South Africa.

The 2022 season opener will once again take place under the lights at Diriyah in Saudi Arabia, before heading to Mexico City on February 12.

Cape Town will host South Africa’s inaugural ePrix on February 26, while the location for China’s race is still unconfirmed.

Rome, Monaco and Berlin remain on the calendar, just before round nine, which is yet to be confirmed.

Formula E heads to Vancouver on July 2 before a double-header in New York.

The season finishes with a double-header in London, then South Korea’s two races in Seoul.

The current season finishes in Berlin this weekend.
