Newman-Haas get the Hollywood look.

Beginning at the G.I. Joe's Portland Grand Prix CART FedEx Championship race this weekend, the racecars co-owned by actor racecar driver Paul Newman will carry a new logos. "The Road to Perdition," a movie starring Tom Hanks, Newman and Jude Law and produced by DreamWorks SKG, will be featured on the rear wings of the No. 6 Chevron Toyota-Lola-Bridgestone and No. 11 Lilly Toyota-Lola-Bridgestone race cars of Cristiano da Matta and Christian Fittipaldi respectively.

In "The Road to Perdition" Hanks stars as Michael Sullivan, a hit man for an Irish gang in the Depression-era Midwest. When his work crosses into his private life, leading to the death of his beloved wife and son, Sullivan and his surviving son set out on a journey of revenge and self-discovery. Sam Mendes, who won an Academy Award for Best Director for his work in "American Beauty," directed the movie set to open nationwide on July 12.

Steven Spielberg, Jeffrey Katzenberg and David Geffen launched DreamWorks SKG in October 1994. Their vision was to create an artist-friendly studio to develop, produce and distribute superior film and music entertainment that would inspire and delight audiences worldwide. DreamWorks SKG is now a leading producer of live-action motion pictures, animated feature films, network, syndicated and cable television programming, home video and DVD entertainment and consumer products.

"It's great to be able to combine my two passions of racing and acting," said Paul Newman, co-owner of Newman/Haas Racing. "I have the utmost respect for the talents of Christian and Cristiano as well as the many talented people involved with this movie and it is great to have the two worlds working together to promote the movie. The top speed of this film will be equal to the top speed of these cars."

With Newman/Haas Racing drivers da Matta and Fittipaldi in first and third place respectively in the CART FedEx Championship and fresh off a 1-2 finish in last Sunday's Bridgestone Grand Prix of Monterey, the team hopes the rear wing signage will be seen not only by the rest of the field they hope are behind them, but also by the 92 countries that will view the worldwide telecast which is translated into 19 different languages.

"I think it is a great testament to our team that we will race with a movie starring not only Paul but also Tom Hanks and Jude Law on our cars," said Fittipaldi. "I actually visited Paul on the set while he was shooting the movie and was amazed by the experience. I know Paul as a friend and competitive racer so to see him in his "other" element was something I will never forget. Hopefully the "Road to Perdition" will make a stop in Winner's Circle this weekend and in the races to come."
