No delays for the Moto2 red flag earlier and MotoGP Practice is underway at a scorching Assen.
Track temperature still rising in Assen, up to 49C now with 35C air temperature.
Moto2 has been back underway for a couple of minutes, Holgado currently fastest by 0.049s over Agius.
Red flag in Moto2 Practice as a result of a crash for Luca Lunetta at turn seven that's brought a load of gravel towards the racing line.
Alberto Ferrandez also down in Moto2 Practice, he's crashed in the middle of turn six.
Temperatures have climbed as you'd expect into the afternoon in the Netherlands and the track is seemingly worse off for it: Moto3 times were slower in Practice than in FP1, and there have been two early crashes - one for Celestino Vietti, one for Ayumu Sasaki - in Moto2 Practice.

Marco Bezzecchi tops Assen FP1 a week on from MotoGP ban, Marc Marquez crashes

2026 Dutch MotoGP, Assen - Friday Practice Results

The chequered flag is out to bring an end to FP1 at Assen and it's Bezzecchi who finishes fastest from Bagnaia and Martin.
Di Giannantonio, Ogura, Raul Fernandez, Mir, Aldeguer, Vinales, and Marc Marquez complete the top-10.
No fresh tyres for Bagnaia but he improves on his final lap, moving up to P2 and within a tenth of his future team-mate Bezzecchi.
Two fresh mediums for Mir on his last run and he goes up to sixth, 0.2s off Bezzecchi.
Marc Marquez heading back out now on his second bike with seven minutes remaining. He's dropped to seventh in the times now.

Moreira crashed out shortly before Marquez, the Brazilian having the rear of his LCR Honda spin out from underneath him at turn four.
Marc Marquez has crashed at the final chicane. He looks to be okay but the bike's switched off so he'll be behind the barriers. Just lost the front trail braking in. He's P6 at the moment.
Moments before, Bezzecchi had gone fastest by over 0.1s from Di Giannantonio.
Ducati 1-2 now as Bagnaia moves up to second, 0.055s behind Di Giannantonio, pushes Bezzecchi down to third.
Encouraging start for both Italian manufacturers so far.
No lap time yet for Alex Rins, MotoGP.com's pit lane reporter Jack Appleyard saying a technical problem has kept him in the garage so far.
Ogura up to third now, continuing his good form from last weekend when he was the fastest Aprilia. He's half-a-tenth behind Bezzecchi at the moment.
