Qatar top four set 800cc record

Official MotoGP statistics have confirmed that last month's Qatar Grand Prix produced the closest ever top four finish in the 800cc class, which began in 2007.

At the end of the 22 lap race distance - and after Casey Stoner had crashed from the lead - Valentino Rossi (Yamaha), Jorge Lorenzo (Yamaha), Andrea Dovizioso (Honda) and Nicky Hayden (Ducati) were covered by just 1.876sec.
