Ferrari F1 test driver takes two-seater ride.

Randy Mamola and the Ducati Marlboro two-seater gave two more personalities a first-hand taste of the MotoGP experience in Spain on Sunday; one from the world of Formula One, the other from the world of opera.

Two weeks after Michael Schumacher rode with Mamola at Mugello, Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro test driver Marc Gene rode two high-speed laps of Catalunya on Sunday morning. The 32-year-old Spaniard was astonished by Mamola's aggressive corner entries.

"I was pretty calm before the ride, then when I saw the bike go down the straight from the pits, I realised the speed," he said. "It was going into the corners that impressed me most, I couldn't understand the physics of how the bike could go into the turns at such a high lean angle. Every time I thought 'that's it', the front end is going to go, we're on the ground, but it was okay. Randy was trying pretty hard, I could feel the bike moving around when the rear was spinning coming out of the turns, but going into the corners was for me the most impressive thing."

Meanwhile Jennie Engstroem, daughter of opera singer Barbara and classic-bike-racing father Martin, found Catalunya's 1km main straight the most impressive part of her outing.

"We're all big fans of MotoGP,"said the 21-year-old from Sweden. "Randy was amazing and the speed was amazing. I definitely enjoyed the straight line the most, I could feel myself flying!"
