Yamaha’s Maverick Vinales is in a more relaxed frame of mind heading into the penultimate round of the MotoGP World Championship at Sepang in Malaysia this weekend.

Vinales ended Yamaha’s long wait for a premier class victory at Phillip Island, last out which was the manufacturer’s first in MotoGP since Valentino Rossi won at Assen in June 2017.

The Spanish rider said he had enjoyed the victory with his team and Vinales hopes to build on the result this weekend.

“It’s been nice because we enjoy a lot with the team. I think we can even work better because we can have a more relaxed weekend and try some new things and this could help Yamaha to improve,” he said.

“I come here without a mental result; I will try to be competitive, try to be in the front and it will be important to get a good feeling try to finish the season on a good point of understanding. It’s very important not to lose the motivation now and build for a good 2019.”
