2025 Private Barcelona MotoGP/Moto2 Test – Results (Day 1)
Lap times from Wednesday’s opening day of a private test at Barcelona’s Circuit de Catalunya.
Honda MotoGP test rider Aleix Espargaro got the better of Pramac Yamaha’s Jack Miller by just 0.077s to top day one of a private test session in Barcelona on Wednesday.
Miller and team-mate Miguel Oliveira travelled straight to the Catalan Grand Prix venue after Monday’s official test in Aragon.
The Pramac pair - able to take part due to Yamaha’s concession status – were joined on track by M1 test riders Andrea Dovizioso and Augusto Fernandez, KTM test riders Pol Espargaro and Dani Pedrosa, Ducati’s Michele Pirro and Honda's former Barcelona winner Espargaro.
At least one of the new V4 prototypes is among the three Yamaha test bikes being used by Dovizioso and Fernandez in Barcelona ('Bike 1' did not set a time today).
However, Yamaha insists that there are no plans to give the V4 to Miller or Oliveira - now fighting to join Toprak Razgatlioglu in 2026 - at this test since it is still in the early stages of development.
Senna Agius was fastest of the Moto2 riders, the Australian getting the better of Intact team-mate and title leader Manuel Gonzalez, who had to adapt back to Triumph 765 power after Monday’s MotoGP debut for Trackhouse. Honda BSB rider Tommy Bridewell was also on track.
