MotoGP Australia - Warm-up Results
Marc Marquez fastest by just 0.090s from Valentino Rossi in morning warm-up for the Australian MotoGP at Phillip Island.
After on-off rain throughout practice, MotoGP riders finally got their first fully dry session of the weekend. Warm-up was extended from 20 to 30 minutes to help compensate for the lack of dry running.
Marquez switched from the soft to hard front tyre, returning to set his best lap after being tied at the top with Maverick Vinales. Most other riders (with the exception of Cal Crutchlow) remained on the soft front.
Nicky Hayden is making his second MotoGP appearance of the season - this time returning to the Repsol Honda team with which he won the 2006 world championship, as a replacement for the injured Dani Pedrosa.
Hector Barbera is riding for the factory Ducati team in place of the injured Andrea Iannone for the second week in succession, with 2015 Australian SBK champion Mike Jones in-turn keeping the Avintia seat for his home race...
