Marlin: Biffle drove like an idiot.

Sterling Marlin produced the TV quote of the week at Watkins Glen when he called Greg Biffle a 'bug-eyed dummy' live on NBC after the former Daytona 500 winner found himself unceremoniously nerfed into the wall by an impatient Biffle early on in Sunday's Sirius at the Glen.

Marlin and his Chip Ganassi Racing crew spent 34 laps behind the wall after being turned around coming out of turn one to finish 36th 90-lap event at Watkins Glen International.

"We were doing okay out there today," Marlin said afterwards, when the cameras were off. "Then Biffle drove in there like an idiot and turned us around. It hurt the lower control arm and mounts and steering box and it sheered off some stuff. I was helping the guys work on it to try and get the car back out...I didn't have anything else to do."

After qualifying was cancelled on Friday due to inclement weather, the field was lined up by points with Marlin occupying the 19th starting spot. Marlin had dropped back three spots by lap six when the first caution of the day came out. When the race restarted on lap eight Marlin was up to 20th.

The Coors Light Dodge was running in the 22nd position on lap 16 when Biffle ran into the back of the #40 and spun the car around. After hitting the wall of tyres, Marlin made a quick visit to the Infield Care Centre before being released and returning to help the guys fix the damage.

The Silver Bullet returned to the track on lap 50 and spent the next 35 laps gaining four positions before parking the car on lap 85.

Marlin's 36th-place finish dropped him to 20th in the Nextel Cup championship points chase, 378 points out of the top 10 and effectively ended any fleeting hopes Marlin and the team may have had of making it into the final ten race 'Chase for the Championship.'
