Ian Hutchinson has revealed his 2026 livery for the Isle of Man TT as he sticks with BMW but changes teams.

Hutchinson rode for the MLav Racing team during last year's road racing campaign, aboard a BMW M1000 RR, scoring decent results including a podium at the North West 200 in the first Superstock race. At the Isle of Man TT last year, Hutchinson took a best result of fifth in the 1,000cc classes, that coming in the first Superstock race.

For 2026, Hutchinson keeps the BMW machinery but will ride as part of the newly formed Team RST, with title sponsorship coming from his long-term leathers sponsor, as announced back in March.

At the Oulton Park BSB test, where Hutchinson is riding as a guest along with other road racers such as Jamie Coward and Michael Dunlop, the team has revealed its livery for this season.

The team is put together with support from SMR Performance, run by Shaun Muir. Muir’s SMR outfit has run BMW’s factory World Superbike team since 2019 with Muir himself as team principal.

The WorldSBK team, of course, has won world titles in each of the past two seasons with Toprak Razgatlioglu, and was on the podium in all three races at the second round of the 2026 season in Portugal with Miguel Oliveira, who after the Dutch Round on 17–19 April is the leading non-Ducati rider in the standings.

Hutchinson and SMR have worked together in the past, but it was over 10 years ago when SMR ran the official Yamaha team in BSB. Hutchinson retired from the Superbike TT that year and finished 13th in the Senior TT.

But the BMW Hutchinson will ride this year has proven itself as one of the leading packages in the 1,000cc classes on the roads and remains the lap record holder – in Superstock trim – at the TT in the hands of Peter Hickman.

In comparison, 2014 was the final year of the generation of the R1 that was contemporary at the time, a generation which never won a TT.
