Plans to create an Isle of Man TT World Series are continuing with the announcement that 'The Sports Consultancy' has been appointed to conduct a feasibility study into the proposed series.

The TT World Series would potentially see road racing events held in the United States and Asia, as well as the Isle of Man.

The Sports Consultancy, based in London, specialises in the commercial development of major sports events and the provision of consultancy to government clients for events including the Olympic Games, Ryder Cup and Formula One.

Work will start in November 2011 and is to be completed by the end of March, with an announcement on the study due at the 2012 TT Races.

"We are keen to capitalise on the growing worldwide interest in the Isle of Man TT Races, not only to explore potential new revenue streams but also as a platform for the Isle of Man to promote itself and its associated businesses and services," said Geoff Corkish, MBE, MHK, Member with designated responsibility for Tourism and Motorsport.

"The Sports Consultancy are one of the UK's leading and most successful consultancies at establishing international sports properties and we are confident that if the event is possible they will be able to establish a framework to move it forward."

The Isle of Man TT, widely regarded as the world's most famous motorcycle race, celebrated its centenary in 2007 and has enjoyed remarkable growth in the last 5 years in terms of both visitor numbers and commercial sponsors.
