Sidecars at Oxford.

It's the biggest event of its kind in the world.And it's coming to Oxford Stadium on Wednesday 28th July at 7.30pm. The world's fastest riders will compete for this years title of The Bike Broker World Sidecar Speedway Super Cup Champion at the Sandy Lane Circuit in Cowley.

Former Olympic and the current 400 metre track record holder Iwen Thomas will present the awards and also be available for autographs.

"1000cc - 160bhp - 70mph - No Brakes", that's how the organisers of this event best describe the action. These Super bike powered machines produce awesome power and will indeed light up the shale at the popular speedway & greyhound stadium.

If you like speedway or stock cars you will love Sidecar Speedway. Local riders are expected to be among the front runners and indeed challenge the mighty Australians for honours.

The popular former Oxford Cheetah speedway rider Peter Lloyd with passenger Terry Madley are amongst the favourites, but the competition will be tough with inclusion of three of the top Australian crews and a former New Zealand Champion who have an impressive 15 National titles between them and indeed start favourites to take the title.

Add to them the current British Champions Ivor Matthews / Mick Stace and the very fast Gary Jackson / Carl Pugh and you can be sure sparks will fly....the competition will be red hot.

It will be a fun night out for all the family, with 22 action packed races, hot and cold food and a licenced bar. Admission is ?12 adults, ?10 Concessions. Accompanied Children 16 and under GO FREE.
