Watson returns to Newport.

As speculated on Crash.net yesterday, Craig Watson has agreed terms to rejoin Newport in 2002. The young Australian has spent a couple of years with Poole but now feels the time is right to return to Premier League racing.

Watson looked to be a potential world-beater three or so years ago during his previous spell with Newport and a number of Elite League clubs were said at the time to be chasing his signature.

Watson looked to be a potential world-beater three or so years ago during his previous spell with Newport and a number of Elite League clubs were said at the time to be chasing his signature.

He decided on Poole over the past two seasons has not had the best of fortune with injury which has been a contributing factor to Watson's Elite League career not going as well as might have been expected.

Premier League racing should hopefully see Watson back to his best. And with fellow Australian Scott Smith having such an excellent debut season there is every chance that the 'duo from Down Under' could be a potent force next season.
