Hare today, gone tomorrow.

Trelawny Tigers thought Lawrence Hare was to ride for them this season - until he signed on with Exeter.

The experienced Hare had a good season with Exeter in 2001 and by all accounts Trelawny were under the impression that the deal was done to bring him to Cornwall, making an announcement to that effect.

All that seemed to be missing was a signature on a contract. Now Hare has signed a contract - but to have another season with Exeter -

The news did not go down well with Trelawny co- promoter Godfery Spargo who said: "Lawrence agreed terms with us and gave us his blessing to go ahead with the announcement.

"This has made us look very foolish and it just shows you can never announce a signing until the ink is dry on the contract, that will now be our policy."

Argentinean Emiliano Sanchez comes in from Glasgow and it is understood will be moving to Cornwall rather than make the long haul for home fixtures.

With Hare now out of the equation, the Tigers will be on the look-out for a new signing to join Sanchez, Seemond Stephens, Chris Harris, Pavel Ondrasik, Richard Woolf and Simon Phillips.

Rising star Harris is an Exeter asset who spent last season on loan at Trelawny. But could he be out of the picture as it is also understood that Exeter are claiming that Trelawny do not have permission to speak to him.

However the situation resolves itself, the local derbies between the two clubs should have a little more 'needle' that usual throughout the fast approaching new season.
