Oxford reunited with Cox.

Marvyn Cox is back at his former club Oxford, to act as the British Elite League champion team's new coach and scout.

After several seasons away from the Cotswold team, Cox is already excited about his return, and intends to help the Cheetahs defend their hard-earned crown, as he confirmed when the announcement was made at a packed fans' forum held at Oxford Stadium.

"I just cannot wait for the season to start, my heart has always been at Oxford and I am delighted to be back here in a non-riding role," he said.

Cheetahs co-promoter Vanessa Purchase claimed that the former rider's experience would be vital as Oxford attempted to land back-to-back titles, particularly as Cox will also be co-ordinating all junior activities at the club.

"Marvyn's knowledge of speedway is immense and he is well respected throughout the speedway world," she said, "Our success with the Dryml brothers has shown how important it is to spot new young talent that we can nurture and develop, Marvyn is ideally placed to search these riders out and will make us a real force for many years to come."
