Mick Powell has been added to the field for Jan Andersen's Farewell Hoedown meeting at Edinburgh on 19th April.

The event will be a big test for the Premier League riders taking part although some will enjoy a home track advantage over the visiting Elite League representatives - ex-world champion Mark Loram, Chris Louis, Jesper B Jensen, David Howe, Bjarne Pedersen and Gary Havelock.

Nicki Pedersen was originally in the lineup and would still be willing to compete, but he has a meeting in Poland which has made travel a little too awkward to arrange.

The event will be along the same lines as the Scottish Open with big prizes for those reaching the Final - the winner will receive a new Jawa engine provided by Jan's Danish sponsor Jean Jusjong.

The other main sponsors of the event are Graham Maben of the Fulfilment Factory, Monarchs team sponsor, SF Racewear (Malcolm Hogg) and a kind gentleman generally known as 'Ian' who is a long standing Monarchs' fan and has sponsored several riders in recent times.

Souvenir meeting tickets can be obtained in advance from Mike Hunter, 33 Groathill Road South, Edinburgh EH4 2LS (0131-332-1127). Admissions are adult ?10, OAP ?6.50, Children ?3.50 and Family (adult and 2 children) ?13.50. Cheques payable to 'FAREWELL HOEDOWN'.

Heat and rider sponsorships at ?100 each are still available. Andersen himself intends visiting Armadale for one of the meetings before his farewell event.
