The Victor Chandler Coventry Bees have completed their 2003 Elite League line-up with the signing of 19-year-old American Ryan Fisher.

Fisher, who made his British debut with the Bees last season, settled his deal for this year in a meeting with boss Colin Pratt on Monday.

The young Californian, who has been on a fitness drive during the winter, said: "I have been running and exercising, and I have also changed how and what I eat. I have lost 15 to 17lbs and I feel a lot better for it.

"I am really looking forward to my second season with Coventry, as I know I can do a lot better than last year. I didn't feel things went that well last season, and I seemed to have a lot of little problems.

"When things were going badly, I did think about not coming back, but I have been racing nearly all my life and I am not going to give up now."

Fisher's signing means Coventry's 2003 Elite League team is [with CMA in brackets]: Billy Hamill (9.04), Andreas Jonsson (8.57), Lee Richardson (8.00), Billy Janniro (6.12), [Ryan Fisher (5.58)], Stuart Robson (5.49) and new boy Jason Bunyan (3.00).
