It was a driver revolt at the New Zealand circuit of Pukekohe which brought about the cancellation of Saturday's V8 Supercar race.

Despite the driving rain and minor flooding, officials had declared that the race would be run, albeit thirty minutes later than the scheduled start time.

Three-times winner at Pukekohe, Greg Murphy, and the far from shy Russell Ingall led the driver revolt, citing unsafe conditions. The officials took this on board and the Saturday race was cancelled.

Weather permitting, Sunday will now see three V8 Supercar races.
