Eyvind Brynildsen is to make his debut in a World Rally Car on the next round of the WRC season in Sweden.

Brynildsen will switch to a Ford Fiesta WRC for the event as team-mate to Mads Ostberg, who will be making his first appearance of the season after missing Rallye Monte Carlo.

The deal with Ostberg's Adapta team includes a run in Rally Finnskog ahead of the second round of the WRC season.

"To compete in a WRC-car is the dream of every rally driver," he was quoted by Max Rally, "and what can be better than to do that in cooperation with the 'neighbour'?

"I will prepare well for the task, and at the starting line of the shakedown on Wednesday the eighth, I will have done 250km testing. I will do my very best to have a good result in the rally. I hope that this is the start of something that can be extended to more WRC rallies later on. We are working hard to get a budget."

In total, 21 WRC cars are on the entry list for Sweden with a number of additions to those that competed in Monte Carlo.

Patrik Sandell will join Dani Sordo in the MINI World Rally Team line-up, while Swedish touring car star Richard Goransson will also be at the wheel of a MINI John Cooper Works.

Fresh from his appearance in a Hummer in the Dakar Rally, Nasser Al-Attiyah will make his debut in the Qatar World Rally Team Citroen DS3 WRC while Polish driver Michal Solowow is entered in an M-Sport run Fiesta WRC.
