Toseland to test strength in Mugello outing

James Toseland has been given the opportunity to measure his fitness ahead of his home World Superbike round at Silverstone with a test at Mugello this weekend.

The Briton has endured a stuttered season since breaking his wrist in a testing accident back in March, with Toseland's repeated attempts at a comeback resulting in just a single start at Miller Motorsports Park.

Nonetheless, having withdrawn from the recent Brno round after FP1, Toseland is optimistic he will complete a full weekend with BMW Italia at Silverstone, his first home event of the year after sitting out Donington Park.

In an effort to get him back to speed, GPOne.com is reporting that Toseland will take part in the practice sessions for this weekend's CIV Italian Superbike series at Mugello.
