Javier 'Xavi' Fores will return to the World Superbike Championship for the year's season finale at Jerez as the latest replacement for Carlos Checa at Alstare Ducati.

The experienced Spaniard rejoins the WSBK paddock having recently been crowned the 2013 European Superstock 1000 Champion on Ducati machinery, while he is also well on course to seal the CEV Buckler Stock Extreme crown this season too.

In the meantime, Fores will step onto a fully-fledged Ducati 1199 Panigale Superbike for the final round of the World Superbike Championship at Jerez, alongside Ayrton Badovini.

A former regular in the World Supersport and FIM Superstock 1000 paddock, Fores made six WSBK starts in 2011 for BMW Italia in place of the injured James Toseland. In addition, Fores has accrued several Moto2 World Championship starts under his belt.

Following on from Niccolo Canepa and Michele Pirro in deputising for Checa at Alstare Ducati, Fores won't be the only unfamiliar face on the WSBK grid for the 2013 WSBK finale, with double Superstock 1000 champion Sylvain Barrier getting a long-awaited shot on a BMW Superbike and veteran Broc Parkes returning aboard a Yamaha Austria YZF-R1.

Additionally, after scoring a top ten finish on his return to WSBK competition at Magny-Cours, Lorenzo Lanzi will be on course again for Mesaroli Ducati, while Max Neukirchner, Leon Camier and Loris Baz are all anticipated to return to action following periods out through injury.
