SSTK: Coghlan, Marino to SSTK on MRS Yamaha

World Supersport podium winners Kev Coghlan and Florian Marino will move into the FIM Superstock 1000 Cup this season, riding the new Yamaha R1 for Team MRS.

A stalwart of the Superstock class, the MRS team moved into World Superbikes with Jeremy Guarnoni in 2014, but will return to the 1000 series having taken delivery of two all-new Yamaha R1s.

Just as notable is the signing of Marino and Coghlan, who arrive from the Supersport class having finished the 2014 season third and fifth overall, the former riding with Intermoto Kawasaki and the latter on a DMC Panavto Yamaha. Between them, the duo notched up six podiums last season.

The deal will see Yamaha return in Superstock guise ahead of a rumoured return to the World Superbike ranks from 2016.
