No rev limit changes until after Donington Park round

World Superbike championship organisers have confirmed none of the manufacturers will see its maximum rev limits changed for at least the next three rounds.

As part of the 2018 rules shake-up a rev limit dependent on manufacturer success in the series was introduced with both Kawasaki and Ducati hit hardest by the initial changes.

Despite the two manufacturers claiming 16 from a possible 18 podium finishes between its respective factory and customer teams, the rev limits confirmed at the start of the 2018 season will not be altered for a minimum of the next three rounds which will apply for all manufacturers.

As a result, the next review to potentially change the rev limits will be taken after the Donington Park round (May 26-27) in preparation for the return of the Brno round (June 8-10).

One change which has been confirmed following the first three rounds of the 2018 campaign is all manufacturers except Ducati are able to carry out a concessions part update at any point this season, but it is understood none of the brands have opted to introduce the update for the Assen race weekend.

A smaller World Superbike regulation tweaks which were confirmed after the Aragon round sees teams allowed to collect more tyre temperature and pressure data during track action.

In the World Supersport championship updates to technical procedures have been installed to improve safety in flag-to-flag races, while in the World Supersport 300 class performance balancing measures have been introduced after the 2018 opener in Aragon was dominated by Kawasaki and KTM machinery.

The two brands have had their test revs pegged back to 6,500 (Kawasaki) and 5,500 (KTM) while Yamaha has enjoyed an increased to 7,500 revs for its updated YZF-R3A.
