Motocorsa has confirmed it will make its second World Superbike Championship appearance of the 2019 season at Misano but do so this time with youngster Samuele Cavalieri.

The Italian outfit competed at Imola last month with Ducati test rider Lorenzo Zanetti on riding duties, but for round seven at Misano it will place its Italian-based CIV Superbike rider on the Panigale V4 R.

Having enjoyed a Superstock 1000 outing last year, this will be 22-year-old Cavalieri’s WorldSBK debut. He is the second CIV Superbike rider to confirm a wild-card after Michele Pirro was announced as joining Barni Racing for the weekend.

“I’m really pleased to have this amazing possibility to debut as a wildcard in WorldSBK at Misano. It will definitely be an important step in my career as a rider and I intend to do my very best.

“It will be important to work well with my team, quickly identifying a good work method and understanding the bike, which is very different from what I use in the CIV.

“It won’t be easy, but I know I can count on the support of a great team. I can’t wait to get out on track and see the Superbike champions up close, I have a lot to learn from them.
