Alex Lowes provides an update after the Top 10 qualifying was washed out by a typhoon, meaning his #21 Yamaha Factory Racing Team starts from pole position for the 2019 Suzuka 8 Hours.

With Suzuka hit by a heavy rain throughout Saturday, both the final practice session and top 10 qualifying trial had to be canned given the unsafe track conditions on the soaking Japanese circuit.

It means starting positions for the top 10, as well as the full grid, have been decided by the provisional qualifying times, with the #21 Yamaha Factory Racing Team of Alex Lowes, Michael van der Mark and Katsuyuki Nakasuga taking pole position with an advantage of just 0.014s.
