Alex Lowes makes his return to action for the Kawasaki Racing Team in Jerez, with a two-day private test where he will also be joined by HRC riders Alvaro Bautista and Leon Haslam.

Lowes suffered a shoulder injury in February which ruled him out of the most recent test in Portimao, as six-time World Superbike champion Jonathan Rea was on solo duty.

Having completed his own two-day test in Portugal earlier this month, Rea will therefore not be in action at the Circuito de Jerez - Angel Nieto.

For Lowes, this will be valuable track time before the official WorldSBK test in Barcelona at the end of the month.

Lowes has already had his first taste of the 2021 Ninja back in November, but after more development work on the overall technical package in the past few months, Alex will have several advances to evaluate at Jerez.

With a higher revving engine and improvements to both front and rear aerodynamic designs, the new Ninja ZX-10RR has proven to be fast in testing so far.

Lowes is going into his second season with the team, and has the chance to get to know the machine again in its latest form as he eases himself back into action.

Speaking ahead of the test, Lowes said: "I can’t wait to get back on the bike. It’s been a tough few weeks, with my arm in a sling for four of them, but I’m working hard to build the muscles back around my shoulder.

"Luckily I’ve been in Barcelona and spending a lot of time with the team and all the mechanics.

"Now we just want to be back at the track preparing for the 2021 season together. It’s going to be fun! Our main target is to continue our programme from the November tests."
