Rea: Idea is to factor in some ideas we tried at previous test in Navarra

Jonathan Rea is hoping to use a previous test at Navarra as a reference for this weekend’s inaugural round at the Spanish circuit; ‘Unlike Most we have actually had a test there a couple of months ago. My rhythm and pace was pretty good.”

With WorldSBK heading to the second of it’s first-time rounds in 2021 this weekend, championship leader Jonathan Rea will be hoping better results come his way compared to Most.

The Czech round was Rea’s worst of the season from a results point of view after suffering a crash in race one.

But with that said, It was far from a bad weekend as the six-time world champion managed to clinch his 200th podium thanks to P3 in the Superpole and race two.

Most was a completely new experience for all the riders as no prior testing went ahead, however, most teams have experience of the Navarra circuit after booking private tests in the pre-season - Kawasaki being one of them.

Rea was part of a two-day test in Barcelona last week and aims to factor in ‘some ideas we tried’ during the Navarra weekend.

Rea said: "It is nice to go to Navarra, another new circuit for us. Unlike Most we have actually had a test there, a couple of months ago.

"I enjoyed the track but it seemed quite bumpy then. Now it seems the circuit have addressed some of the problems we faced.

"My rhythm and pace was pretty good there so I am quite curious to see, with everybody on track, how competitive everyone will be. I feel that with our Ninja ZX-10RR we can be strong.

"The idea is to start on Friday with a base set-up but also factoring in some ideas we tried at a previous test at Barcelona. I am excited for that and the aim is to have a really good race weekend."
