John McGuinness celebrated Honda's 50th anniversary of racing by storming to a 15th career Superbike TT win on the Isle of Man.

The TT legend was in imperious form around the 'island', recording three laps averaging more than 130mph, including an outright lap record of 130.442mph on lap two.

Dominating all six laps to produce a new race record, McGuinness led a Honda 1-2-3 on the anniversary of their half-century in racing, the HM Plant Honda rider leading team-mate Steve Plater and Guy Martin.

TAS Suzuki's Bruce Anstey retired at Ballacraine on the opening lap, while McAdoo Kawasaki's Conor Cummins was also forced out in the closing stages from fourth place. The position instead fell to Ian Hutchison, with Gary Johnson fifth.

The winner's garland was presented to McGuinness by reigning MotoGP world champion Valentino Rossi, who completed a parade lap of the circuit alongside fellow Italian grand prix legend Giacomo Agostini.
