Guy Martin pulls out of Oulton Park with Smiths Racing

Guy Martin has withdrawn from the British Supersport race at Oulton Park with Smiths Racing due to 'circumstances outside of the team's control'

Guy Martin has pulled out of the British Supersport race scheduled for this weekend at Oulton Park due to 'circumstances outside of the team's control', according to a Smiths Racing team statement.

The Smiths Racing team were set to enter Martin for the Cheshire circuit event to give the Lincolnshire rider more running time and experience on the Triumph Daytona 675, which he will use for this year's Isle of Man Supersport TT races.

The TV star competed at this season's opening round at Donington Park with Smiths Racing and attracted a huge crowd of fans all weekend. However, the Gloucester-based squad announced Martin will not be present at Oulton Park.

"Unfortunately, due to circumstances outside of the team's control, Guy Martin will no longer be joining us at Oulton Park this weekend," a team statement confirmed. "We are sorry to disappoint you all but rest-assured, we have more testing to complete before the Isle of Man TT."

Smiths Racing has not confirmed whether a replacement will be found for Martin but it seems unlikely given he was a wildcard entry for Oulton Park.
