Fogarty and Whitham together for Friends of Huck charity night

World Superbike legend and I'm A Celebrity's King of the Jungle Carl Fogarty teams up with best friend and Eurosport commentator James Whitham on 14th May for a charity night at The Engine Shed in Wetherby

World Superbike legend and I'm A Celebrity's King of the Jungle Carl Fogarty is teaming up with best friend and Eurosport commentator James Whitham on Thursday 14th May for a charity night at The Engine Shed in Wetherby.

The four-time World Superbike champion is set to chat about his time in the Jungle, his racing memories and much more with Whitham with all proceeds going to Mark Hucklebridge and the Friends of Huck charity.

Mark Hucklebridge, a former Motocross rider, is suffering with terminal cancer after being diagnosed in 2010 with stage four bowel, liver and lung cancer. 36-year-old 'Huck' was told his illness was terminal in February 2014 and is aiming to live life to its fullest.

"I'm astounded by the support I have been given by people since my cancer was diagnosed as terminal," Hucklebridge said. "Sometimes I've not known what has been going on and this is my reason for setting up the Friends of Huck Charity. The charity will be one point of call for everyone, we can then see what is being raised and who is raising it.

"I also want to put something into the sport that has been most of my life and also the sport which has supported me the most through these horrible times.

"There is nothing set up for riders that have become seriously injured in motocross or for any rider and their family that might be going through similar to what I am so that's what I wish to do."

Fogarty says he was more than happy to help out and hopes to raise as much money for the Friends of Huck charity as possible.

"Cancer is sadly an illness I know too much about, I have lost, like many, good friends from this awful illness," Fogarty said. "Carly [Rathmell] made contact with me about doing a chat night for Huck and I was more than happy to come and help out. It will be good to see familiar faces from the racing paddocks but also new fans from my jungle experience, I'm looking forward to it and hope to see you there."

James Whitham endured a battle with Hodgkin's Lymphoma in 1991 and successfully beat it. He added: "When I was asked to do this I didn't give it a second thought as I love the world of motorsport and keen to also support cancer charities so the combination is perfect. Mark is only young and has a little boy who is only seven, if we are able to make some money to give him that extra time then it is more than worth it."
