After a breakthrough campaign in 2014 by making the Showdown with Quattro Plant Kawasaki, Linfoot secured a ride with the returning Honda Racing squad and instantly demonstrated he had a title-fighting package at the season opener, taking fourth and second place at Donington Park.

However, Linfoot's 2015 came crashing to a halt after breaking his wrist during practice at the second round at Brands Hatch, ruling him out of the next two rounds. With considerable ground to catch up and a wrist still on the mend Linfoot struggled to replicate his first round form with just three podium finishes in the remainder of the season.

Scrapping into the Showdown after collecting the required handful of points to leapfrog the injured Stuart Easton, Linfoot's patchy form failed to pose a serious threat at the front.

A combination of poor set-up and a bold but ultimately brash tyre choice at Assen saw the Yorkshire rider leave the Netherlands with just two points from two races and tumble out of the title race.

Despite his frustrations, another step-by-step improvement at Silverstone saw him return to the podium and also claimed a respectable fourth place in the final race of the year at Brands Hatch to secure a second consecutive fifth place finish in the overall BSB riders' standings.

It has proven enough to keep his place in the Honda Racing set-up for 2016 and collect him enough votes to hold on to a top ten place in our readers' poll.

About the vote:
Rather than repeat the Riders' British Championship standings, the BSB Rider of the Year poll asks viewers to take into account factors such as machinery, performance relative to a team-mate, riding style, experience, injuries, progress and personality just as much as race results and scoring each of the top twenty from this year's BSB standings with a mark out of ten.
