Juan Kinnish from Laxey in the Isle of Man extended his lead in the Shell Advance backed Ducati Monster S4 Challenge this weekend winning round 4 of the UK's premier one make race series in changeable conditions at Lincolnshire's Cadwell Park.

Juan who was beaten to pole position in Saturdays qualifying by Carl Ogden, started second on the grid but made up for it by a great start when the lights went out.

"That was exactly the result I was looking for today to strengthen my championship position," commented Kinnish. "Compared to my Supersport machine, the Monster V Twin engine enables me to ride a gear higher in a lot of places on the circuit, and I subsequently feel a lot more relaxed and can concentrate on my lines."

Finishing a close second position was Bolton's Duncan Burns. Lying fourth in the championship before round 4, Burns suffered a rollercoaster of a weekend as a fellow rider missed a gear in qualifying leaving Burns sliding down the track, but uninjured.

"I was sure of a good finish at Cadwell before I arrived, but when I qualified eighth after my accident I really didn't know what would happen come race day. After a good start I just kept my head down and managed to keep Juan in sight. Another few laps and maybe I could of challenged him," said Burns.

Completing the podium celebrations was Gary Byrne from Pinner in Middlesex who as a huge Barry Sheene fan dedicated his third place finish to him as he wishes Sheene a quick recovery from his illness.

Juan Kinnish leads the championship now by 34 points over second placed Duncan Burns who leads third placed rider Mark Cheetham by just 6 points.

The next S4 Challenge round is at Oulton Park race circuit on the 1st September.
