Brogan joins HM Plant.

The 27-year-old Liverpudlian completed this year's British Superstock Championship in second place on his Tengo Honda and also impressed when he replaced Ian Hutchinson on the Bikeanimal Supersport machine.

However, it was Brogan's performances in the important Superstock class that brought him to the attention of Honda Racing boss Neil Tuxworth.

Brogan will be aboard the new CBR1000RR Fireblade, which will run in separate sponsor colour's in the Superstock class - the sponsor is yet to be announced.

"I'm so happy to be part of a team like this," explained Brogan, "Doing Supersport and Superstock will make for a busy weekend, but I've proved I can do it and after this season I believe that time on the track is important. It's a dream come true for me and I can now have a really good stab at both championships. I'm in the best team and riding for the biggest and best motorcycle manufacturer so it's a real privilege. In Supersport I'm getting a real crack at the title with a great bike in the CBR600RR and in Superstock I'm sure the new Fireblade will be up to
the task."

2008 will also see Brogan return to Northern Ireland's North West 200 as part of the HM Plant team. He last raced there in 2005 saying, "I've only been there twice and the first time was when I was about 18. I didn't get to race last time thanks to a mechanical problem so I'm looking to make amends on the Supersport and Superbike Hondas."

Honda Racing's Neil Tuxworth said: "We've all been very impressed with Steve's attitude and results over the last couple of years. In 2007 he took the runner-up spot in the Superstock championship and was an excellent replacement rider in the Supersport class where he proved he's got the ability to get the results. For 2008 he's now got the opportunity to really shine as part of the HM Plant team."
