O'Halloran revives SMT fortunes.

After a tough induction to the British Superbike Championship at Croft, Jason O'Halloran showed what he is capable of by delivering SMT Honda easily their best weekend of results at Silverstone.

Scoring just one point at Croft, the Australian Supersport Champion was in fine form in the free practice as he consistently breached the top ten. However, an error in qualifying left him down in a disappointing 15th.

Nonetheless, his race pace was strong and coupled to several retirements up ahead, he crossed the line in eighth place, becoming seventh when Gary Mason was excluded.

Beating the team's previous best result of 11th, O'Halloran went on to claim a tenth place result in the more hotly-contested second race to add a total of 15 points to their tally. Naturally, SMT team boss Robin Croft was delighted.

"It's been a very good day and I'm very happy with the performance of Jason and the team, and with the results we've achieved. We had a slight stumble in qualifying and ran out of time to get Jason higher than 15th but as he'd been 10th in all of the free practice sessions, we knew our pace was better than where we'd qualified so were hopeful for the races.

"Jason rode excellently and whilst there were a few mishaps for other riders in the first race, finishing races is the name of the game so we'll definitely take the 7th spot!

"He put in another great ride in the second race and he's getting more and more used to the bike and I'm delighted with how he's settled in to the team. It's been a fantastic day for us and we'll be looking for more of the same at Brands to finish the year on a high."
