Racing suspended at Donington [updated]

Wet conditions at Donington Park have called a halt to proceedings during the latest rounds of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship.

The opening two races of the day - for the SEAT Cupra Championship and the BTCC itself - were able to run more or less on time despite a red flag following a multi-car accident on the opening lap of the SEAT race.

However, the first single-seater race of the day for the Formula Renault Championship was then red flagged due to water on the track at the Craner Curves, with the decision taken to take the cars off the track and suspend the following Formula BMW UK Championship race to try and dry the circuit out.

With rain still falling at the East Midlands venue, the Clio Cup race has also now been suspended, with racing set to resume at 12:45 for the second BTCC race.
